Planting seeds, growing a community: A day of planter workshops to remember at The Restorey, Park Royal

We were delighted to welcome residents at The Restorey in Park Royal, London to a balcony planter workshop on Saturday 16th May - a day that brought together creativity, community spirit, and a shared love of gardening.

We partnered with inspiring gardening influencer, Cara Thompson (@makeitflourish), to lead the sessions. From preparing the soil and plants, to learning practical tips on watering, positioning and ongoing care, Cara provided residents with valuable knowledge to help their flowers thrive long after the workshops had ended.

The Refectory, a beautiful listed building located within the development, provided the perfect backdrop for the workshops, during which each resident was given the opportunity to create their own planter. Guided by Cara, residents explored different colours, textures and flower combinations, resulting in a variety of unique creations.

At the end of the workshop, attendees were invited to take their planters home. Many of these vibrant displays now take pride of place on balconies across the development, adding splashes of colour and personality to the growing community in North West London.

But these workshops weren’t just about gardening, they were also about connection. Many of the attendees were neighbours who hadn’t previously had the opportunity to meet, and it was fantastic to see conversations flow as freely as the advice being shared.

Reena Varsani, Sales Manager at The Restorey, commented: “Events like this are an important part of our commitment to building strong, connected communities. By creating opportunities for residents to come together in meaningful ways, we aim to foster a sense of belonging that extends beyond the front door.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended, as well as gardening expert, Cara, for making the workshops such a great success. The enthusiasm, creativity and community spirit on display made it a truly memorable occasion.”

If you’d like to be part of this vibrant community, there’s still an opportunity to call The Restorey home. A selection of stylish one and two bedroom apartments are still available through Shared Ownership, offering an affordable way onto the property ladder in an up-and-coming area of London.
